Will Taylor is no stranger to hard work. He grew up helping with his father’s lawn mowing business, and today he stays on the road for weeks at a time (what we call a “Road Warrior.”). But Will readily admits that for many years, he lived with unhealthy habits: lots of processed foods and little exercise. In 2020, his doctor told him that he had Type II Diabetes. And that’s when he knew he needed to make a change.
Will is passionate about sharing his story because he wants others to avoid his mistakes and choose a healthier, happier lifestyle. Press play to hear Part 1 of Will’s story – his childhood, early career, and the beginning stages of his health journey.
“We started working at a very young age, and he [my father] instilled in me the value of saving money.”
“We cut the whole cemetery by lawnmower, and it took us from 6 in the morning til about 7 that night.”
“Complaining doesn’t make the issue go away; dealing with the issue and facing it, moving forward and not running from it teaches you the value of integrity and discipline.”
“I knew about diabetes (my mother was diabetic), and I remember her taking shots….the one thing that was instilled in me is that it was chronic, that you could never get rid of it.”
“In 2004, a doctor told me that I was pre-diabetic. But I never took it seriously.”
“I added up everything that I was eating before bed, and it was close to 600 grams of sugar.”
“I don’t want to be on insulin, my job may be in jeopardy (not be able to drive)…I knew that if it was too high, if it was not controlled, I can’t drive….and that’s everything.”
“I started doing research, looking into reversing diabetes naturally, without medication.”
